Helvetia Research is an independent Swiss interdisciplinary research institute. We combine scientific rigour with applied research to generate evidence on the major transformations shaping the modern world.
Societies, economies, and institutions are being reshaped by forces that rarely act in isolation: demographic and migratory shifts, technological acceleration and artificial intelligence, environmental and energy transition, changing labour markets, and pressure on public systems. The central question of our work is how these systems adapt — and which responses hold up under evidence.
Based in Geneva, we design and deliver studies that draw on the social sciences, economics, public health, environmental science, and data science, applying methods appropriate to the question rather than to a single discipline. Our activity covers research design, field studies, data collection, statistical and qualitative analysis, programme evaluation, and evidence-based recommendations.
Our research has historically focused on projects within Switzerland. The institute is now entering a new phase of international expansion, through research partnerships, comparative studies, and multidisciplinary projects conducted across multiple countries — a natural extension of work whose subject matter is, by nature, global.

Studying transformation requires methods robust enough to separate structural shifts from short-term fluctuation. Every study follows a documented process built for that purpose.
Independence
Studies are designed and reported independently of the interests of any party. Data sources, methods, and limitations are documented transparently.
Scientific Rigour
Research designs follow established methodological standards, with sampling, instruments, and analysis specified before data collection begins.
Interdisciplinarity
Adaptation is examined across disciplines at once, combining quantitative and qualitative evidence within a single research design.
Comparative Perspective
Studies are increasingly designed across countries with academic and field partners, distinguishing what generalises from what is specific to context.
